River Bottom Bucks Outfitters is located in trophy whiletail country in East central IL. We offer a 380-acre secluded setting; ideal for providing the kind of hunting you are looking for. The property has diverse habitat for deer including upland and bottomland hardwood forests, 2 rivers, the Embarras and Little Embarras (pronounced Ambraw), and 37 strategically located food plots. All of this is connected to several thousand acres of wooded deer habitat in the river valley. We have owned this property for over 30 years and have always carefully managed it for deer and other wildlife. Family and friends have hunted it on a limited basis all those years. Many great bucks have come off this property and surrounding area. We are now offering this opportunity to a limited number of hunters who appreciate the challenge of hunting free roaming trophy whitetails in prime habitat.
Very comfortable lodging for up to 4 hunters is right on site. You can eat with us or eat at local restaurants. Limiting the number of hunters to only 4 at a time will allow each one to have nearly 100 acres to hunt.

Take a look and give us a call. We'd love to be part of your hunting experience with either full 5-day hunts or pro-rated by the day.

Busy getting the fall plots in. It's been terribly dry but got a nice rain on some fresh planting today. Lots of browse on many plots.

Take a look at the new trail cam pictures recently posted in the gallery.

Corn is being picked extremely early this year which will be pushing more bucks into the river bottom.
Food plots

Bob and Scott are spending every chance they get putting in food plots of various kinds. Deer trails are everywhere. Didn't mow a couple of alfalfa fields to allow the fawns and turkey nests to remain safe. Seeing several bucks in velvet on trail cams.

You couldn't ask for a more beautiful spring. So far no floods and warmer than usual. There are some cool scenery pictures just added to our gallery.

There is heavy deer traffic on trails and lots of sightings. Saw one starting to sprout new antlers last week!

Getting ready to start planting food plots.

A couple years worth of food plots seem to have brought more turkeys back, too.
2009 Shotgun state wide deer harvest

The 2009 state-wide deer harvest for the two shotgun weekends was down this year. Late harvest causing lots of standing corn is believed to be the main reason for lower kill numbers. What does this mean? Bigger bucks for next year!!

It's here!

Fall weather and hunting season are here. Farmers are beginning to harvest crops which will push the bucks out of the cornfields. We've sighted several big ones in the past few weeks. Foodplots are doing well inspite of another wet year.
Because Last year was our first year and has only a few hunters, there was very little hunting on our property this year. There were big bucks shot around us on connecting properties. Nobody hunted here during shotgun season and the deer knew it!! We have sighted several huge buck during that time and since then.

The Blair Farm also now known as River Bottom Bucks will always hold a true spot in my heart. It is hard to believe that 24 years have gone by since my first whitetail hunting adventure on the Blair Farm....and to illustrate just how good it really think about the fact that I have only missed hunting whitetail on this property twice in 24 years!!! It was always a blessing to have been allowed to hunt such a wonderful place with such an awesome 'surrogate' family. I have been fortunate enough to hunt and guide many great places to include Alaska and New Zealand and have a week’s worth of stories to tell about my hunting adventures around the country. These bowhunting stories would cover the hunting spectrum from Dall Sheep in Alaska to New Zealand Himalayan Tahr but none are any better than the those stories I have experienced hunting monster whitetail bucks on the Blair Tree Farm!
Having mixed emotions about the Blair's decision to jump into the outfitting business I must state that after 24 years of hunting I have yet to find a more fitting location to hunt free ranging whitetail deer. Bob, Marsha and Scott Blair have what I consider to be one of the very best Whitetail properties in the Mid-West and anyone who has the chance should jump at the opportunity to hunt with this wonderful family. Some of my most fond memories have been made within the boundaries of the Blair Farm and I am excited to see the quality of bucks that will undoubtedly be harvested at this Illinois hunting wonderland!! One thing I can express is this...You will NOT find a more accommodating family or a better Whitetail hunting operation....anywhere!

My name is James R.Wiesneth Sr., my wife and I are landowners in Clark Cty. Illinois which we manage for Wildlife and Forest.
We have known Bob and Marsha Blair for some time. When Bob and Marsha told us they were going to start an outfitters business on their beautiful 300 acres of in Coles Cty. Illinois, we just knew it would be done First Class.
Bob and Marsha have been thinking about this for a long time, and they just waited until they retired from growing Christmas trees so they could devote more time to their new business.
The Blair's property can support all kinds of wildlife with such a variety of trees, rich river bottom soil, and many food plots varying in all sizes, and a variety of grasslands to keep their quality Deer on their property year round.
I do believe any clients they book will be very satisfied with the property, accommodations, and the fact of having a chance of harvesting a quality mature Illinois Buck.
I know the Blairs will do everything possible to see that their clients have a Safe, Memorable, Quality Hunt, and are not over run by other hunters, or trespassers.
